Site Builder System Update : 4.14b - User Groups/Mailing list

The next system update is scheduled to be released later this week.  This update includes many usability enhancements in the user groups/mailing lists area, enhanced support for multiple mailing lists, the ability to add an auto response campaign to any mailing list and a new feature to save basic contact information submitted through forms.

Mailing lists/user accounts

The user accounts and mailing lists pages have been upgraded to provide for much easier navigation between features.  Tabs at the top let you easily switch between user accounts, administration accounts, user account settings and the mailing list.

Auto response/drip newsletter campaigns can now be setup on all mailing lists.  The current system only supported setting up auto responders on the default mailing list.

Using the form builder, you can create custom mailing list sign up forms for any mailing list group or multiple groups.

Form builder - mailing lists
The form builder now allows you to configure which mailing lists are associated with the mailing list sign up field.  You can create a form that adds users to a specific mailing list (default / account based) or you can create a form that adds users to multiple mailing lists.  To create a mailing list sign up for the non default mailing list you need to enable the "basic contact/lead db" option.

Form Builder - basic contact/lead DB
A new option has been added to the form builder which takes basic contact information that is submitted by users through the form and saves it as a contact record in the user database.  Once the option is enabled, you need go to through each of the form fields and assign how the field is saved in the contact database.

When setting the contact db you can specify which user groups/mailing lists contacts are automatically added to when the form is submitted.

The following basic contact fields can be saved:

- first name
- last name
- email address
- city
- state
- zip
- phone
- company
